# pacman -S linux-lts
But I must add that later I had several problems; first with the signatures,
“error: linux-lts: signature from "Erich Eckner ... " is unknown trust
I also had problems with mirrors,
error: failed retrieving file ... mirror archlinux32.org Could not resolve host
So I think it would be better to install "linux-lts" at the time of the original installation.
# pacstrap /mnt base linux-lts linux-firmware
I'll try switching to the LTS kernel if this keeps bothering me (or maybe just suspend more often ).
]]>I can say that I finally have my arch linux 32 working 100% with openbox as my GUI, and it flies like a bullet.
Well, I would like to end this thread, because I can happily say that the solution to my problem was to install linux-lts.
I have also been able to replace the mirrorlist with one generated in https://archlinux32.org/mirrorlist/ which solved the other problem I had with pacman.
Many thanks to everyone for your help, particularly Abaumann and Levi. We keep seeing each other here.
Goodbye, Alberto.
]]>The truth is that I've already been looking at my mirror list, and I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
Maybe it's better that I generate a new one from here, "Arch Linux 32 repository mirrorlist", and see what happens.
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet"
I'm working on solving the problem with the mirror.
If you see this before I figure it out, a little help is welcome.
# curl -Ss https://archlinux32.org/keys.php?k=5FDCA472AB93292BC678FD59255A76DB9A12601A | gpg --homedir /etc/pacman.d/gnupg --import
# pacman -S linux-lts
# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
# reboot
# pacman -R linux
# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
I was finally able to get into my arch installation.
But I must say that it is showing strange behaviour.
It keeps popping up on the screen...
"systemd-journald[179]: Sent WATCHDOG=1 notification.
Also if I try to update the system ...
error: failed retrieving file ... mirror archlinux32.org Could not resolve host
pacman -S linux-lts
"error: linux-lts: signature from "Erich Eckner ... " is unknown trust
]]>In general, the problem is usually: the ones having the old hardware are not necesserily good kernel developers (pointing at me),
and the ones who are competent kernel coders don't have the old hardware or better things to do. :-)
