Cannot wake up the wirless interface

I ran this

$ sudo ifconfig wlp2s0b1 down

and after that the wifi does not wake up when I ran

$ sudo ifconfig wlp2s0b1 up

the out put of

$ip a

shows state as down for the interface wlp2s0b1.

I even tried the ip set wlp2s0b1 up command but still it is not working. But it was working fine before running that ifconfig command.
