I have just installed Manjaro XFCE i686 on a very old (circa 2004) HP ProLiant ML110 and it works great! But now I hear that support for 32 bit systems is going to stop in November. Will it be possible (and/or practical) to migrate to Archlinux32, or will it be necessary to do a completely fresh install?

It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future. (c)
What I would do is to back up your Manjaro install, thus if you make an error during migration you can get back a try anew.
I would also try a pure archlinux32 install and see if you can get to the UI you have with Manjaro easier the Arch way. Or if it is easier to adapt an existing Manjaro install.
Another "solution" can be to use a more settled OS for 32bit hardware and wait how good archlinux32 becomes. If it becomes good some downstream distros might adapt it as package supplier again.
