does any one successfully build 486 kernel and boot it on real 486?

I use archlinux32, build 6.13 kernel, make tinyconfig, make, successfully boot in VMware, but fail to boot on real 486 machine, reboot after load kernel.

Re: does any one successfully build 486 kernel and boot it on real 486?

I tried on Alix, Pentium IIs, a Pentium I (which is now dead), but this was already some time ago. I never tried on a real 486.
Can you increase the loglevel=7 to max and see, why it reboots?

It's either some Illegal instruction somewhere in the boot process (for instance in systemd), also, newer versions of grub don't
boot on 486. Syslinux also has some issues in newer versions IIRC, so taking an old version is an option.

I currently only have a non-working i386 and a really old AMD which are close to a 486 (i386 not running of course with Arch32
and modern kernels).
