executing firefox

hi,
   after installing firefox 114.0.2-1.0
when I start it:

$ firefox
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so:
libxml2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.

(libxml2.so.2 => not found)

$ pacman -Ql libxml2|grep libxml2.so
libxml2 /usr/lib/libxml2.so
libxml2 /usr/lib/libxml2.so.16
libxml2 /usr/lib/libxml2.so.16.0.4

thanks

Re: executing firefox

There is also still the option to install AURs firefox-bin (at least for now there still are 32-bit binaries from Mozilla - this will end,
see:
https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases … d-in-2026/

I doubt, that after this we will even be able to build firefox on our own on Arch32.

Re: executing firefox

- I have already installed adwaita-icon-theme-legacy 46.2-3.0

- do you think the problem is the lack of the sse2 flag on the CPU?

- what do you think from AUR: firefox-bin or bin32-firefox-bin

Re: executing firefox

I was aware of firefox-bin. If SSE2 would be a hard dependency, then the binaries woudln't even start and not throw those errors..
