Re: Survey: On what cpu do you (want to) use archlinux32?

That's apparently branded as a Core Duo chip.  I thought all of the Core era chips supported 64-bit, but the ark page suggests 'intel64: No' indeed.

Ah, despite the 'Core' in the name it's actually an enhanced Pentium microarchitecure, and chronologically the one before the actual Core microarchitecture chips, it you ignore the whole netburst disaster.  Funny old Intel.

That Core2 chip should be capable of running the mainline ArchLinux 64 by the way, but thanks for testing arch32 on it.

Interesting, I think that's a new one.  We've got someone using a T2500 above which is another 2006 chip, and probably has the same flags, but numerically at least it's a new one on me.

I use ArchLinux32 on IBM ThinkPad X41t (Tablet). Works great so far, for the most part - fingerprint scanner, pen input.

Intel Pentium M LV (758) @ 1.50GHz

Re: Survey: On what cpu do you (want to) use archlinux32?

I think almost all (if not all) pentium 4's support x64.  If that's the case and you already knew that, thanks very much adding another machine to the community.

Actually, https://ark.intel.com/ has a list of all CPUs and whether they are 64-bit, have SSExxx, etc.

Re: Survey: On what cpu do you (want to) use archlinux32?

It does, but forgive me if I'm wrong, but there's no processor number there in the CPU stat.  Makes it harder to search on the intel site and get past all of the stuff they're actually trying to sell you.

Reading from wikipedia, apparently all of the Williamette (180nm) chips were 32 bit; x64 came in with the prescott (90nm) netburst pentiums, although it was disabled at first.  Well, you learn something new every day; most pentium 4's you see in the wild these days do support x64, but the feature isn't universal.
