fresh install chromium doesn't launch

/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/chromium/chromium: undefined symbol: hb_subset_input_set_retain_gids

maybe it's harfbuzz issue (v. 3.1.2) but don't know how to go from there

Re: fresh install chromium doesn't launch

Look in /var/cache/pacman/pkg for harfbuzz-* (ignore harfbuzz-icu if it's only harfbuzz releases you're looking for), Then downgrade it using pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/harfbuzz-<version>, and see if that helps.

Re: fresh install chromium doesn't launch

It solved the problem.

Thanks.

Instead of cache i used https://archive.archlinux32.org/package … kg.tar.zst and harfbuzz-icu equivalent.

Re: fresh install chromium doesn't launch

Okay, that's only a temporary solution, but it might help those with more knowledge know how to fix this going forward.
