what a jump! previous version was 5.5... iirc
still no go for linux-lts-headers; nothing changed, even after I followed https://bugs.archlinux32.org/index.php? … ask_id=365, i still get :

15 years old! it's just like brand new.
viafb might be deprecated in the kernel, like all framebuffer things.
why do they do such a thing?
isn't Linux supposed to have back compatibility? I mean: keeping linux able to run with "old" material?
are they going to deprecate parallel and serial ports drivers too, or is it already done?
I update as soon as updates are available (i noticed that late updates lead to "invalid or corrupted"), so I made a daily cron that does a `checkupdates'.
in this case, update went with no problem before trying to install linux-lts-headers.
hi,
facing trouble with viafb, I tried to install linux-lts-headers along with linux-lts.
first, "pacman" complains about "invalid or corrupted package"
then, I refreshed pacman-key after siglevel = never and back in /etc/pacman.conf
with no effect
so, I tried to install from /var/cache/pacman/pkg, but then pacman complains about "ggc_libs="
gcc_libs is installed though.
--
btw, how come there are so many/often "invalid or corrupted package"?
I usually don't run X on this machine; I can run a lightweight WM, but problems arise with firefox, and other "heavy" programs commonly used.
indeed, blacklisting viafb allow to reach login with a lower resolution.
is there anything I can do ("easily") to get viafb to work again ?
edit: I've tried linux-lts without blacklisting viafb, it doesn't work either.
hi,
I've got a HP-T5545 that boots correctly (I can reach it through ssh), but login never appear and screen seems to disconnect.
I didn't notice it until now because I usually don't plug it to a screen; so, I can't tell since when it doesn't have login anymore.

updating linux-firmware, I get this message

do you need anything else ?
I can change archiso's pacman.conf, it just doesn't last at reboot, and I don't reboot until install is done.
and at the moment I can't install arch32.
ah?! it's better the second time with complete filename as: 'keys.php?k=16194A82231E9EF823562181C8E8F5A0AF9BA7E7'
but, after updating SigLevel to Never, pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/archlinux32-keyring-20241114-1.2-any.pkg.tar.zst (which is the downloaded version: pacman -Syw archlinux32-keyring) fails

normal ?
wget is not available so I used curl -O, which recorded file as key.php
hi,
i'm trying to install archlinux32 20240710, and pacstrap outputs "invalid or corrupted package" and complains about gpg keys
exactly. I've just updated, and lighttpd installed correctly.
sorry for the noise.
thank you.
hi,
I can't install lighttpd
here's what I get when I try to install it:

too bad. min should be removed from repository as it can't be installed.
hi
I want to install min as web browser. It works great on 64bits version. really great : light and fast.
but it can't be installed on archlinux32 : pacman complains "he" can't find electron.
warning: cannot resolve "electron", a dependency of "min"
And is is just me or has the title here changed to indicate our hapless OP has achieved a modicum of success?
yes. changing Architecture parameter in /etc/pacman.conf from auto to pentium4 "allowed" pacman to access chromium 79. you missed #12.
/etc/pacman.conf Architecture=auto, though.
I changed to pentium4, and change appears : available version of chromium is now 79...
update in progress . . .
silly me.
good guess : i686, and SSE2.
I pretty sure I can't change CPU as it is a tiny HP T5455.
it's not a big deal anyway,
I usually use this machine as a vnc client.
some times I just don't need to wake the server.
I'll go for a more lightweight web browser.
Thank you for maintaining 32 bits version.
here's mirrorlist after rankmirrors (which doesn't tell how mirror is up to date only how quick they're reachable, but I guess andreasbaumann.cc is )

thank you.
I updated system (pacman -Syu), but pacman -Qi chromium still shows 74.0.379 version.
another computer, with 64bits Archlinux installed, chromium is indeed 79.0.3945
what are your repos address?
I only use french one. is there any difference from one to the others? how to tell which one is the more up to date?
hi,
chromium complains about missing libicui18n.so.64 :
/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.64: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
this would probably impact other programs that I don't use.
pacman -Qi chromium
returns
74.0.3729.169-2.0
as version.
do you need any other informations ?
this works with uncompressed file.
thank you.
hi,
I'm very glad to be able to install Arch on an HP T5455.
but ter-112n.psf.gz font doesn't set automatically at boot.
here's what journalctl says :

/usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/ter-112n.psf.gz does exist.
I already stfw, without solving the trouble.
I configured grub gfxpayload to fit my screen.
I added
vconsole.font=/usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/ter-112n.psf.gz
still no ter-112n until I setfont manually.
any idea ?
at least, what could be an equivalent : a sans serif 12 pixels font that will work.
