[SOLVED]-Anki doesn't start properly

Hello.

When I try to open anki I get this error

anki

Re: [SOLVED]-Anki doesn't start properly

Yes, I get the same warnings when I just started anki.  I'm not sure what it should look like for me though, since I don't have any training loaded into it already.  The menus all worked for me though, and I was able to navigate some dialogues.

I also got this error at some point during my testing:

qt: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 2350, resource id: 16783527, major code: 40 (TranslateCoords), minor code: 0

I don't have enough experience to say this is actually functionally broken, but it certainly spits out bad looking messages while it runs.

Re: [SOLVED]-Anki doesn't start properly

this error was showing up on chromium too, only I was using i686 architecture, so I switched to pentium4 and updated all packages including chromium, which was in version 74 and went to 83. This error that was also making chromium stop to appear, but no anki.

In order for me to use anki I have to type this in the terminal:

 anki --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox

Re: [SOLVED]-Anki doesn't start properly

Yes, that seems to help, in that I get stuff below the menu bar now.  Does it do everything you need it to do now?

Okay, I'll give you a few days to test it out, and if you don't post back with a bug, I'll take it as read and mark this thread as having got a workaround.

Looks like that copying around the chromium sources from project to project finally pays off. :->

This is the seccomp jailing for 32-bit issue, now it has to be backported into all projects embedding chromium.

Re: [SOLVED]-Anki doesn't start properly

I had similar issue and I solved executing with parameter:

$ anki --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox

Last sunday I executed full system upgrade and now I get this error:

$ LC_ALL=C anki --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/aqt/__init__.py", line 400, in run
    _run()
  File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/aqt/__init__.py", line 480, in _run
    if app.secondInstance():
  File "/usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/aqt/__init__.py", line 260, in secondInstance
    buf = os.path.abspath(args[0])
  File "/usr/lib/python3.9/posixpath.py", line 379, in abspath
    cwd = os.getcwd()
OSError: [Errno 16] Device or resource busy
$

If I run anki without any parameter I get the same window than bernardo on first comment.

Chromium does not work:

Re: [SOLVED]-Anki doesn't start properly

I did full system upgrade last monday and now is working again with parameter:

$ anki --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox
